#SWA2 – What it does:
#SWA2 provides tickets to home games for disadvantaged people based in the Wirral. We are currently working with over 35 charities and community groups in the area and are always looking for more groups to work with.
The 2015/16 season surpassed our expectations and we are delighted to say that we distributed over 8000 match tickets around the community last season.
Chairman Mark Palios said: “This is a fantastic gesture from some of our fans. They have recognised that they can play a crucial part in rebuilding the Club, by helping us to bring in the next generation of fans and at the same time helping some of those in our community who are in difficult circumstances.
“There is a powerful sense of partnership building between the Club, the supporters, the Trust and the community, all working together to restore Tranmere to its former glory, but at the same time to ensure that it is a force for good in its local area.
“We want to develop the fund to help us reach more individuals, families and groups across the local area. Our aim for 2016-17 is to double the fund enabling us to double the number of people we can reach.”
#SWA2 – How it works:
Tickets are available for any groups to distribute to people who would not ordinarily have the opportunity to attend football matches.
Tickets are available for league home games.
Tickets will be distributed a month at a time with a monitor on usage or they can be selected for ad hoc games.
The distribution of tickets from the charity group can be flexible to individuals, families or groups as appropriate.
#SWA2 – How to donate:
There are many ways in which to donate, the main way is through our fundraising website – www.mydonate.bt.com/charities/tranmereroversinthecommunity
However, please look out for donation envelopes in the suites on matchdays, at local events, bucket collections throughout the season or you can donate also in the Club Shop.
We would also appreciate your support in getting the knowledge of #SWA2 into the wider community so please use the hashtag #SWA2 on Twitter and re-tweet and share our social media posts.
